LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD

Activity:  LISTEN AND READ THE STORY.

Little Red Riding Hood

There once was a very pretty girl. His mother had made him a red cape and the little girl took her so often that everybody called her Little Red Riding Hood.

One day his mother asked him to bring some cakes to her grandmother who lived on the other side of the forest, recommending that do not stop by the way, for crossing the forest was very dangerous because there was always lurking wolf.
Little Red Riding Hood picked up the basket with pastry and set off. The girl had to go through the woods to Grandma's house, but he was not afraid because he was always there with many friends: the birds, the squirrels ...
Suddenly he saw the wolf, who was huge in front of her.
- Where are you going, girl? - The wolf asked in his hoarse voice.
- To my Granny-Riding Hood said.
- Not far from the wolf thought to himself, turning around.
Riding Hood put his basket on the grass and picking flowers entertained: - The wolf is gone, he thought, I have nothing to fear. Grandma will be very happy when I bring a beautiful bouquet of flowers in addition to the cakes.
Meanwhile, the wolf went to Granny's house, knocked softly on the door and opened the old thinking it was Little Red Riding Hood. A hunter who was passing had observed the arrival of the wolf.
The wolf devoured Granny and put the pink hat of the unfortunate, got into bed and closed his eyes. Not have to wait long, as Little Red Riding Hood came right away, all excited.
The girl went to bed and saw that she had changed her grandmother.
- Grandma, Grandma, what big eyes you have!
- Better to see you, 'said the wolf trying to imitate the voice of the grandmother.
- Grandma, Grandma, what big ears you have!
- Better to hear you, 'continued the wolf.
- Grandma, Grandma, what big teeth you have!
It is to ... eat better! - And saying this, the evil wolf pounced on and devoured the little girl, as he had done with granny.

Meanwhile, the hunter had been worried and believing guess the bad intentions of the wolf, decided to check to see if all was well in Grandma's house. He hired a reaper and together they arrived. They saw the front door open and the wolf lying in bed asleep so sick he was.

The hunter pulled out his knife and slit the belly of the wolf. Granny and Red Riding Hood were there, alive!.
To punish the bad wolf, the hunter filled his belly with stones and then closed it again. When the wolf awoke from his deep sleep, he felt very thirsty and went to a nearby pond to drink. As the stones were heavy, fell headlong into the pond and drowned.
As Red Riding Hood and her grandmother, suffered no more than a scare, but Red Riding Hood had learned his lesson. He promised his grandma not speak to any stranger who was found on the road. From now on, follow the judicious advice of your Grandma and your Mom.

  1. Hello Mamen,
I think that this activity is very interesting because it works as a connection for the other activities! I think that children like a lot Little Red Riding Hood's story and the idea of starting the blog with this option is really entertaining because they are going to have an extra motivation to continue with it. In the other hand, I think that the activity is also attractive because working with it we can cover two skills (listening and reading) and, from my point of view, they give more confidence than only listening to it. I like it a lot!

  2. Hi Mamen,

As Maider has said before I think that it is a good way of starting a blog because it is motivating to them to listen and read a story like that.

However I think that maybe after that we could make some activity such as performance of the story working the pronunciation and the reading. Children like drama a lot and in that way they work pronunciation, expresions and vocabulary and they start missing the shame of speaking in front of their classmates. Another activity could be answering some questions, or repeating some important expresions... What do you think?

I hope you find them interesting and useful. Apart from that the activity is nice and I like it.

    Best regards,

    Oihane

  4. Hi Mamen!!

Your blog is very nice. I think is very eye-catching and dynamic.
Your activities are fun and children learn and a lot of fun.

I think it's interesting that children are able to understand the blog without much help from parents.
